A.I.B.U to think that getting decent advice on H.R.T at my G.P surgery is never going to happen because I Can not get through and also they don't know much more than a few second google allows for?

I had a hysterectomy in 2019 aged 47 due to huge fybroids and got hrt evorol 50 from G.P. in 2020. Put on weight despite being on a calorie deficit and switched to the lower one. Despite having no appetite and maybe hitting 400-600 calories over a week due to covid, I still lost zero pounds, making me think the patch is making me retain weight. My irritability is to the max sometimes and I feel my menapause symptoms ( some insomnia, mild flushes and irratibility, mild anxiety) are not much better off from when I started. I am tired all the time en though on good diet, and enough sleep mostly.

Harder than ever getting an appointment and going on total lack of advice with H.R.T from nurse clinician or G.P, am I better off taking HRT patch off ,cold turkey to see if weight stablises? I do not think that i will have the patience to hear another g.p clutch at straws for advice.

I've had blood tests done after a chat with a gp and been told to read menopause matters website and decide what sort of hrt I want to try.
You could have knocked me down with a feather that it was done without any fuss so far. I am going to book an appointment when I'm not coughing.

Tbh I have no idea what hrt I want to try.

The Irish Menopause Facebook page is a mine of information. It has up to date information and is a great source of help. You can do a one to one zoom meeting with a specialist or join a class online. Good luck, it's a very difficult time

Even if you totally stop HRT you may find the weight issue remains. You are at an age where the weight packs on relentlessly, with or without HRT.

However if they haven't checked your thyroid etc obviously get that done.
