AIBU to be absolutely fuming at parcelforce and looking for some way to complain

Parcelforce has had the habit of sometimes putting my parcels into the recycling. I have up until now always been home to retrieve the parcel but have multiple times expressed my concern to what would happen if I was not there.

I was away with DH for the Christmas holidays to spend it with my DM. In that week one day after we left there was 3 parcels that were addressed to me and put in the (you can probably guess it) bin. I was not even aware there was 3 parcels for me until I got back home and saw the note that informed me where they had been put. There was also no tracking number or anything so I did have to spend a large chunk of my time going through each of my online orders and pre-orders to figure out what they were.

How are bins an accpatble place to put parcels???

I rang this morning to complain but was told I should fill in a claim online. I did and got a response that as the recipient I can't put in the claim. So now I not am only livid at parcelforce for destroying my parcels, I feel incredibly embarrassed that I need to message a seller that is not going to be fluent in English and are not to blame for this appalling service if I could please trouble them putting in a complaint.

I already tweeted Parcelforce but am wondering if me as the customer can still complain in a more official way and if anyone on here has any experience.

It’s not clear if the parcels were still in the bin when you got home? I assume so as you were not home to put the bin out?
I also assume you bin is full of black bags do parcels were probably more protected that’s if they had left them open to the rain?

Not necessarily, my neighbour and I regularly put each others bins out if the other is away so they can't assume a parcel will be found before going out.

Hope you get it sorted OP.

@BrieAndChilli I was away when the bins were collected. Our bin men take them from our front garden as we live on an old street and there is literally no place to put them. The whole street does it like this and for the past 11 years I have lived here that has been the system.

@Hidingawaytoday trying to. I messaged the seller now and explained the situation as best as I could while emphasising I in no way blame them and know it was the negligent work by Parcelforce that caused this

They tried to deliver my son's Christmas present to Milton Keynes when it was clearly addressed to another country. Kept emailing me asking for me to confirm the correct address even after I pointed out the address was correct the country they were trying to deliver in was wrong. Then they lost it entirely.

@countrygirl99 I am so sorry. did you get any kind of compensation from them? it is awful how awful they are.

@motherofqilins not enough!

motherofqilins · 30/12/2022 20:10

@countrygirl99 I am so sorry. I do wish we could as the customers actually select who we want to deliver. certainly would never pick Hermes, Evri or Parcelforce here. Fedex I have found the most reliable for us
