To wonder how long I can get away with saying "Well, it *is* Christmas!" while reaching for more cheese/wine/chocolate?

I'm aiming for 5 Jan, when I go back to work. I would rather eke it out til the weekend, but I'm nothing if not a realist.

Jan 3rd I think. This is why I prefer it when the school hols/work return is more like Jan 7th, get longer to festive eat.

SnuggleBuggleBoo · 29/12/2022 16:35

Urgh, I've eaten half a bloody cheesecake today and feel so sick! And cross with myself, because I'd just got to the point where my jeans were fitting comfortably again. I'm looking forward to it all being done and dusted now!

I usually keep it going 'til early February! Xmas Grin

Nothing gets thrown out - anything we won't eat is frozen to avoid waste.

End of Jan/beginning of Feb we make a fantastic macaroni cheese with all the leftover cheeses that need using up.

When they stop selling off all the snacks reduced. So probably about the 2nd.

RandomPerson42 · 29/12/2022 16:36

There are 12 days of christmas… it’s christmas when it’s christmas not before and not after.

AuntieMarys · 29/12/2022 16:39

Dh will be taking a huge box of uneaten sweet stuff into work on Sunday...including Stollen, Turkish delight, chocolate oranges, m and s chocolate biscuits. I don't want them in the house.

AuntieStella · 29/12/2022 16:41

Until Twelfth Night

WindsChange · 29/12/2022 16:41

Yep 3rd for me too. I am sure I’ve stretched my stomach over the last week as I seem constantly hungry and able to graze throughout the day!

Quveas · 29/12/2022 16:44

June?

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 29/12/2022 16:46

Mind you this year I'm not carrying anything on past NYE...I've felt horribly unwell for over a week and snack foods don't appeal at all, really, so I'm taking advantage and getting back on the low carbing wagon on January 1st. Also have decided not to have any alcohol for a good long while as it just no longer agrees with me!

June?

I like how you think. A solstice to solstice celebration.
