Leaving boys to go away for 2 nights?

stopbeeping · 28/12/2022 11:14

I've not been offered babysitting but was going to ask MIL to take our boys so my husband and I can go away for two nights.
Last time I left the boys was one night in May, for my cousins wedding. Before that was 22 months before that

Is it rude to ask? And also if not,

Any suggestions of actual 5 star hotels not in central London but the south east. We would bring our baby with us, she is 10 months old almost

Want a spa and great food

Maybe £450 a night max?

Nothing wrong with asking just be respectful of the answer. Fingers crossed for you its a yes and have a fab weekend. Sorry no hotel recommendations that way.

Of course you can ask but don’t pressure and make it clear they can say no.

Four Seasons Hampshire is lovely, very luxurious for adults and really good if you plan on taking the baby- free homemade baby food at the restaurant, kids pool, bikes with baby seats to borrow, they will provide sterilisers etc.

I wouldn’t ask- your husband could ask as his family but I wouldn’t ask anyone I wasn’t directly related to or paying

Hopeyoursproutsarealreadyon · 28/12/2022 12:38

Personally can't see the point in going and taking a baby!

Yes, it will hardly be a nice, quiet romantic break

MajorCarolDanvers · 28/12/2022 12:42

Can't see anything wrong with asking. I'd ask them to have baby too.

Hotels - try the secret escapes website. I often find luxury hotels on there for bargain prices.

Stayed in Eastwell Manor in Ashford, Kent years ago and it was incredible. Don't know if that's useful at all, think it might be four star though.

AriettyHomily · 28/12/2022 12:51

I wouldn't take the baby! What are you going to do, sit in a room and have room service for £450/night?!

stopbeeping · 28/12/2022 12:52

We have three children and the boys are at the age where they are hard work
The baby isn't

I don't have my parents in England they are abroad and I can't leave three kids with my husbands parents

Yes my husband or I can ask, would just send a text to them to ask

Would do it midweek so kids have nursery and school and it's less for the in-laws

Luxury family hotels are nice and have a babysitting service (and lovely creche that takes young babies). Really nice spa etc.
