As mentioned by Paul Whitehouse on the Gone Fishing Christmas special, changing Christmas to every four years like the World Cup.
Maybe a small ceremony each year, but Christmas as we have now would only happen every four or five years.
My reasons are;
1.) makes it more special when it is the big one
2.) reduces waste
3.) cost effective
Obviously the economy would suffer a bit. I just wish we could tone the whole thing down. Less stuff, less pressure to do so much, see so many people, less travelling.
I would still want a mid winter celebration of sorts, with family gatherings and nice food. Just not... all of this!
