To not want MIL using her own used snotty tissue on a baby

We’ve just recovered from a two week bout of a horrible virus. Three kids and us. Pretty much on our knees with looking after everyone, Xmas prep, trying to finish up work.

MIL thought after baby did a small sneeze to wipe his nose with her own used tissue. I said hold on I’ll get him a tissue but it was too late.

I said “oh do you think that’s a good idea sharing used tissues” she said “don’t worry I’ll throw it away afterwards…

Yeah you look after yourself lol… I kind of meant I don’t want the baby to get another virus if at all possible.

That would annoy me too! Hopefully she'll think next time before doing something like that

bigbird50 · 24/12/2022 19:58

so you didn't loose your shit when she did that? If your going to simply laugh it off when she places your baby at risk then why bother posting?

Yup83 · 24/12/2022 20:12

No I went upstairs and anti backed his nose.

in not upstairs putting him to bed but too annoyed the go back downstairs

You are being OTT in my opinion.

@bigbird50 at risk...of a cold?!

HighAsAKiteAgain · 24/12/2022 20:38

There are countless dangeous toxins in anti bacterial products, please stop using these on your children

Wolfiefan · 24/12/2022 21:02

Please say you didn’t actually anti bac his nose!!

Calphurnia88 · 24/12/2022 23:46

Sharing used tissues is gross, baby or otherwise.

No I went upstairs and anti backed his nose.

😦

HarrietSchulenberg · 25/12/2022 00:39

I'm sure he'll be fine and he'll already have inhaled way more of your own germs than whatever was on MIL's tissue. If you really did antibac his nose then you're off your trolley.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 25/12/2022 01:28

Please say you wiped his nose with a wet wipe, not anti bac soap/spray/wipe. It's highly unlikely he'll get ill from a tissue, he's more likely to get a sore nose from you using anti bac on it
