Have you ever dreamt something very vividly and seen it come to pass exactly as you saw it? If so, can you tell me:

Did you know at the time it was going to happen, or was it only after it passed it clicked and you realised you’d seen it in a dream?

How long was it between the dream and the event happening?

Was this a one off or have you had this happen several times?

If you were to dream about something happening to someone else, would you tell that person? Or be afraid of seeming totally woo / a bit cuckoo?

Dm has done. She doesn't know it's going to come true at the time. The main one I remember was a bike one.
She dreamt she was cycling around the village and the brake cable snapped in an odd way. In the dream she thought "never mind, I still have the other brake." She continued cycling and had an accident.
She told us at breakfast about this odd dream and described how the cable broke.
She then went down to the village and came back pushing her bike looking very white... the brake cable had broken in exactly that way.

She does sometimes get dreams or feelings. eg One time someone was planning on visiting. Every time she was doing something in preparation for them to come she heard a voice say "you won't see him." He died (unexpectedly) the day before he was due to come.

It doesn't happen very often and she really doesn't like it happening at all.

Thanks so much for sharing. I can imagine it must be quite scary for her actually, no wonder she doesn’t like it happening. The bike one was so accurate wasn’t it!

I have. I can't remember what dream I've had before but it become reality years later. it's a bit like deja vu!

nc4747 · 22/12/2022 21:45

All the time but it doesn't happen exactly as I see it. Just a significant event that then tends to happen within the next 2 years. Hard to understand really.

I know during events leading up that that's what's about to happen.

Re. Someone else, yes I would and have told them, once before. Only because a) I knew they would listen based on my history and b) it was something that could be avoided.

That particular thing never happened and we are well past the 2 years, so I hope it made a difference.

I once dreamed I was watching a horse race on tv and the letters S A I E N CE were written across the bottom of the screen and a voice was saying I must say the word, as the tv played the horse race and showed this horse winning by a huge amount. I couldn’t say the word as it made no sense.

Woke up and looked at the race meetings that day and found a horse called Sapience

Dh put a fiver each way on Sapience. It was the same race as in my dreams and Sapience won by a huge amount.

I have a few times.

One I dreamt my manager had been promoted and had his new title on his name badge.

I thought it was a memory not a dream and had a conversation with someone at work about it. They said he had not been promoted but a week later I came in and he was sitting there with his new name badge and title.

I've read newspapers in my dreams. I read about, of all things, Paul Daniels' and Debbie McGee's wedding.

Whether these were premonitions or not I don't know, I mean they were both things that were probably discussed around the time.

My latest vivid dream is certainly not a premonition but is worth sharing I think.

A sweet centre (for anyone who doesn't know) is a shop that wells samosas, paneer rolls, and various indian sweets and deserts.

So I had a dream that someone had set up a mobile sweet centre, it looked like one of those highly decorated Indian busses.

Now I actually think this might be a good idea, But the thing that made it a strange dream was that it was manned by Cannon and Ball!.

Many, many years ago, during my first year at university, I had a dream about a school friend. I dreamt she had been in an accident. It was one if those dreams which still disturb you when you wake up.
A couple of days later, I had a letter from another friend saying that the friend in my dream had had an accident!! She had been trampolining and had very badly hurt her arm.

I also had a recurring dream about my aunt waving goodbye. A couple of weeks later she died.

I've had several, but the one that I think was most significant was when I was young and I dreamt about 2 men breaking into our house, and my brother disturbing them and being attacked. It was so vivid that I was very upset and told my mother who assured me it wasn't real.
A few days later it happened in an almost identical way to the dream. Still freaks me out now....

Quite a few. When I was a teen I lived in a popular holiday village. Our house didn’t have a sea view. I had a vivid dream of coming out of a cottage just down the road that had a massive front garden and an amazing sea view. My mum winked and said ‘maybe you’ll stay there one day’ when I told her. Have holidayed in that area a few times and once stayed in that cottage. I only remembered the dream (30 years earlier) AFTER I stayed there.

Used to go running down a lane where a couple of houses were being built. Vivid dream of driving up to a pair of them and turning right towards a particular one. Told my husband who said ‘we’ll have done well in life if we move there, those are big houses’. Completely forgot about the dream and nearly discounted that house when we were looking to move 15 years later, it was my husband who said we should go see it. We live there now.

Vivid dream about a colleague who I knew enjoyed back-stabbing people. She reported to me and in my dream had gone above me and damaged my reputation. This did happen and was one of the reasons I decided to leave the company. In my dream, it was an awful thing to have happened. In real life it turned out brilliantly as my new job pays massively better and is hugely less stressful (not managing someone like her, for one thing!).

Not a dream but a premonition

I was happily married sitting next to my adored husband whilst he was driving in very slow moving traffic in our home town . Passing through a built up area I looked at a tiny mid terraced house and said to myself, what a funny little house . It stuck in my mind .

15 years later my heart broken and struggling with dreadful divorce the man I had adored had become my enemy , I was trying to find somewhere to live . Broken I moved into another house. 6 months after moving in I was in the front garden and the memory hit me of the premonition in the car 15 years earlier during the happiest time of my life .....I was living in that funny little house .

I have lived here 20 years now it is my sanctuary and place of safety and peace . I love my funny little house .

Vocaladvocaat · 16/10/2023 07:56

I take it all with a pinch of salt. My family member’s “premonitions “ never came true and she thought the actual abusive bf was lovely.

I dream all sorts of unusual things that never happen. It’s the brain makeup ng sense of the day. The lady with the bicycle had probably subconsciously noticed that the chain was rattling/loose; had an anxiety dream about it then when it broke validated the dream. But, the dream probably only happened when she sensed something wrong earlier.

Well, forgive me for wondering how you can assert this so confidently if you can remember neither the ‘dream’ nor the event you believe it ‘predicted’.
