In London for today.
I’m trying to find a stripy scarf which preferably has Oxford Uni or New College on it. Real long shot - any ideas?

The tourist type gift shops on Oxford St, around Trafalgar Square and other places around central London often sell those types of items.

Try phoning ede and Ravenscroft. They do stock college scarves but I don’t know if they carry them in the London stores or just online

Think you'll need to pop up to oxford for a new college specific one.

There's an Ede & Ravenscroft on Saville Row too, and New & Lingwood that sometimes has college colours.

think I’ll have to try the tourist tat shops on regent st.

They won’t have college specific ones (real or fake) in London, just Oxford. If it’s for a student (current or future) get them a voucher so they can buy it next term. Sadly, they’re unlikely to wear anything other than an official one.
