AIBU to not attend contact lens appointment?

I’m on a contact lens trial and I’m supposed to go back to the opticians on the 23rd to report back how everything was.

WIBU to just order some more contact lenses online instead of going back to the opticians? (To avoid the chaos that town will be on that day). I would of course call and cancel the appointment.

Apologies if this makes me sound a bit dim. I’m not sure how the trial works so unsure what the etiquette is.

You're better off asking the people running the trial than asking Mumsnet.

Contact (no pun intended) them and tell them something's come up so you'll have to rearrange.

I would. I’ve never gone back after the trial. Online is usually cheaper too.

They want you back to check the lenses are okay for your eyes and presumably you won't get the contact lens prescription until after this is done. Do you not need the prescription for ordering them online?
