Anyone else suffering the worst cold of their life?

I’m literally bed bound, head feels like it’s going to explode, aches and pains everywhere, boiling hot. Negative for covid (this is so much worse than covid was anyway :( )

Have not suffered like this with a cold for years! It’s horrible. Usually I can solider on with lem sips but they’re not touching this.

Is anyone else suffering/suffered a lurgy like this recently? I hope it doesn’t last long :(

Yep same here - 3rd day in - head cold - aching - sneezing- coughing-this cold is a humdinger ! You have my sympathies - hope you feel better soon 🌺

The person on the train behind me today sounded awful and really blocked up with a cold. I felt sympathy, and fear that they were so close, in equal measure!

Yup, the only saving grace is everyone at the shop work has it so we are all in and miserable together. Sharing lucozades and packs of strepsils and muddling by because we only get SSP and thats shite.

I honestly want to smack myself because i can hear how loud i am mouth- breathing and its doing my head in, not sure how anyone can bear to be in earshot of me.. i dream of an unblocked nose

Yep, I'm on day two, feel worse than when I had COVID. I've sweated through two pairs of PJ's, wet myself more times than I care to think thanks to throwing up, coughing and sneezing. I feel so light headed and spacey and everything hurts. Had to take time off work which is very rare

Yes! Couldn't understand why I was so tired the last couple of days, then started sneezing last night. Woke up with a streaming cold this morning. Thoroughly miserable. Nothing is helping and I'm already on my second box of tissues.

I feel exactly like this after weeks of being snotty with a cough and cold etc... today I feel 10 x worse and I've just tested positive for Covid.

My DS is poorly. He was ill and off school last week for 3 days but went back Monday. Wednesday night he suddenly went downhill again and came home from school yesterday feeling awful. In the night he threw up. Said he'd been coughing then got the "I'm going to be sick mouth " and was sick. Didn't throw up again but has temp of 38 and coughing and aching and headache. He's been up
For a shower but felt dizzy and gone back to bed.

Yes same here. Had to leave work early today and I feel so shit I’m running out of energy just typing this. I’m coughing so hard it’s making me gag.

I feel dreadful too, caught it off my daughter, who thankfully wasn’t as ill as me.

was due to fly to Spain today and had to change to tomorrow, I’m still not feeling great but sore throat is much better.

As a poster above, many kids in my daughter’s school went back and then after one day we’re off sick again.

GP wasn’t available so I had to do an online private consultation and got codeine. That helped with the sore throat but it’s making me so drowsy I’m now going to stop taking it.

Sounds like flu. Our household is suffering with it too. It has been 5 days and no real improvement of symptoms yet. I was hoping the fever would let up but it's still going strong.

Fortunately my DC has been vaccinated but still suffering with it a lot and missed the whole last week of school.

I am on third week. Temperature normal but ache and cough til gag. Not really productive now. Aware of middle front of chest all the time. Sometimes having palpitations.

Sounds like flu, not a cold. My experience of a cold is you feel like shit but can get on with things if necessary. You can't with flu.

Yes to all of the symptoms above, but I am positive for covid. But I do wonder if I have covid AND the cold from hell. I've never been so ill, but it's not typical covid symptoms - the main symptom I'm suffering with is the completely blocked nose/sinus/thick head/sneezing, and AWFUL night sweats. No muscle aches, little coughing, not much of a sore throat anymore. Very different presentation than my husband (who gave me covid).

Temperature normal but bone achingly tired. Work in a school...TA.
Finish Wednesday...
Tested for covid 3 times over the weeks and negative. Lots of illness around school.
