To point out that PigletJohn was mentioned in an Express article?

I think this is my first AIBU! Wanted to highlight this article I just saw about drying clothes indoors... @PigletJohn was mentioned for some sensible advice (tldr summary: drying clothes on an airer in the bathroom with door shut, if you have an extractor fan, could save you buying a dehumidifier or tumble drying).

One of my minor hobbies is spotting PigletJohn comments on MN.

Thank you @PigletJohn, your presence around here is always reassuring and I think you are a true MN asset.

Are you PigletJohn with a name change?

HappyAsAMudlark · 13/12/2022 20:42

@PinkParfait LOL no! I don't think PigletJohn does name-changing... Do you PigletJohn?

There's basically one male on MN that I'm happy to be here and that's pigletjohn.

ICanHideButICantRun · 13/12/2022 20:45

Totally agreed, @frapped!

motleymop · 13/12/2022 20:45

Is he still on here? I've been away for a few years.

ICanHideButICantRun · 13/12/2022 20:46

So what was that advice again? You put the clothes on a rack in the bathroom and put the extractor fan on? Does it have to be a heated rack?

HappyAsAMudlark · 13/12/2022 20:49

@motleymop yes! I saw a PigletJohn response to a complex question about cold radiators on one side of a house recently.

@motleymop yes! I saw a PigletJohn response to a complex question about cold radiators on one side of a house recently.

What an absolute legend.

Luncheonmeatsandwich · 13/12/2022 20:52

Are we sure Pigletjohn isn't a woman?

HappyAsAMudlark · 13/12/2022 20:52

@ICanHideButICantRun I think standard airer will do - the exact advice was to put a line up in the bathroom, leave the extractor fan running with bathroom door shut so that the excess moisture is removed from bathroom in the same way shower steam is removed. No mention of heated airer.

HappyAsAMudlark · 13/12/2022 20:54

I'm not sure, so I only refer to PigletJohn as PigletJohn. Which makes me sound like I'm a bit infatuated. Top Piglet.

HoppyMoppy · 13/12/2022 20:56

Agree. Legend.

DaisyDaisyDoesHe · 13/12/2022 20:58

Isn't that just common sense?!

Oblomov22 · 13/12/2022 21:01

PigletJohn is the epitome of cool.

TinFoilHatty · 13/12/2022 21:04

PigletJohn helped me with a radiator issue about 12 years ago, he is a hero so ner to naysayers. <flicks V's>

AnyFucker · 13/12/2022 21:04

How did you know it was PJ in the article? Was it credited to “Pigletjohn on Mumsnet”?

dogcalledcracker · 13/12/2022 21:06

@AnyFucker it says 'one Mumsnet user has a clever way to ensure any excess moisture is removed - without having to buy a dehumidifier.

User PigletJohn commented: “If you have an extractor fan in the bathroom (you should) put a line up in there and leave the fan running and the door shut.
“This will at least prevent the rest your rooms suffering damp, condensation and mould.

AnyFucker · 13/12/2022 21:12

Ah, I see 😊

There is nothing that piglet John doesn't know. Love reading the tips he/she gives

Frapped · 13/12/2022 22:21

Pigletjohn is a man. One of the useful ones who helps you get your toilet sorted and then doesn't post anything creepy on the sex topic.

MrsMoastyToasty · 13/12/2022 22:23

I reckon @PigletJohn has a wife called PigletJean and a load of piggy wiggies.

stevalnamechanger · 13/12/2022 22:30

@PigletJohn gave me incredibly helpful advice about my heating 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
