We are expecting a little girl at the end of May.
I know English weather can be unpredictable so I'm wondering what I will need as want to save as much money as possible.
Do I need to buy a few tiny baby bits? DH thinks just newborn but I've had a few friends who had small babies and newborn swamped them. Wishful thinking I'll be having a little 5lb'er 😂
Short sleeves or long sleeve vests/baby grows? How many of each would you start with? How many sleeping bags? I plan on using them for safety. How often would I even change it? Gosh this is confusing!
Does baby need a hat in summer? Obviously we will keep them out of the sun completely with shade and the pram umbrella etc.
Do I need mittens as they scratch?
Are zip babygrows better than buttons? For quick nappy changes or outfit changes in the night if they are sick etc.
Will be getting all the usual bits like lots of muslins, hopefully I will be able to breastfeed but planning on buying some bottles just in case. What would you recommend? Friends recommend MAM so will be getting some MAM dummies just in case baby likes a dummy but I know some prefer different bottles.
How many packs of nappies? I don't want to go overboard in case they don't suit baby, again what would you recommend? I've heard good things about Aldi's own.
Do I need an expensive steriliser or something like the Milton cold water steriliser?
Also, we are planning on buying a crib that goes next to our bed so it's safe co-sleeping as such but what one would you guys recommend? I like the look of the next2me one.
Is it worth buying a big cot yet? We have a Moses basket from my Brother that they used with their little one which I plan to keep in the lounge and the crib upstairs but do we wait until baby is 4-5 months and then buy a cotbed? Or is it better to get it all now in case baby doesn't like anything else?
I plan on buying the owlet sock, after multiple miscarriages I think this might be peace of mind. So if anyone has one, what do you think of it?
I have my eye on an angel care baby seat to put in our big bath or if anyone can recommend an alternative that they've used?
Do I need a white noise machine? An Ewan the Sheep?
There is so much to think of and I have no idea how much I need of everything so thought I'd ask for some advice from all you mums ☺️
