Husband scrolling social media while kids fight

Just came home from getting the groceries and one child is crying hysterically as the other has broken her necklace and beads have gone everywhere. Husband is sitting on the couch scrolling Instagram while all of this is going on without intervening or barely acknowledging the kids at all. I get it that people get tired but this kind of scenario actually happens a lot and I end up being the one having to pick up all the pieces.

My gods men are so fucking useless.

Get him told. Step up and be a dad, or fuck off.

Thing is if I say anything it just becomes an argument, he'll make it out to be that in the bad parent and it all ends up being worse for me

Tell him to go scroll elsewhere, as in somewhere not in the house. If he's going to be useless then he can leave.

JaniAnne · 11/12/2022 05:50

It's ok, he'll soon be scrolling on his own

He doesn’t sound like much of a partner or a dad tbh - take some steps to leave him

I am. Have tolerated years of sexual coercion and abuse too so once I have my things in order I'll be out

Good to hear; stay safe and call police if you need to x

Oh God, I knew it would be much worse than just scrolling on his phone. What's your home situation in terms of whose name is on the mortgage or lease?

JaniAnne · 11/12/2022 08:37

It's pretty complicated unfortunately
