Is this okay to wear to a wedding?

I'm going to just the evening do of a wedding between Christmas and New Year, is this suitable or is it too sparkly?
I'm getting married next year and wouldn't think twice if someone wore it to mine but wanted to suss out other opinions. The wedding is of one of my school friends mum who I get on with really well. I have other options of outfits but love this dress and other than this wedding have no occasion where I would wear it!

Like @Longlongtime I was wondering if you wear it with leggings? Or maybe i'm just very old and it's a dress.....does it cover your bits properly? If not....not suitable. Lol. No one needs drunk Uncle Pete getting excited by the young ladies underwear on show at a wedding....

I've not tried it on yet but I'm not particularly tall so I'm hoping it will fall mid thigh/above the knee! But obviously if it's on only just covering my bum it won't be worn!

@FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee probably just plain nude heels to keep it simple. Or even some light colour heeled boot. What do you reckon?

It's lovely. I'd be looking at getting a full length really warm coat on Vinted too though, because I'd absolutely freeze.
