I hate feeling this way, and I probably AM being unreasonable, but I signed up for a monthly donation to charity. I am being indundated with phone calls and emails, asking me to double the amount I donate. I don’t donate a huge amount, but neither do I have a lot that I can afford to donate either. I just want to block the emails, texts and phone calls, and tell them to get knotted tbh - but it’s a good cause

I ignore all chuggers, direct debits etc and give what I can to who I want.

The only charities I donate to are the small local volunteer run cat/dog rescues.
You all know the ones I mean, doing the work that the big multi million £££ ones that do buggar all for animals in distress

I remember once donating via text because an advert really affected me. It was a water charity (water aid?) and WITHIN THE HOUR I'd had a phonecall beginning 'thank you for your donation, but it's not enough'...I could have cried, that was an awful lot of money to us at the time. I'd sent the text from my babysitting job that night.

Yes that was how amnesty international got me!

I had the same thing, warned them if they did it again I was cancelling and I did.

I give a regular amount to UNICEF, I had to stop for a while due to a cashflow issue. Got a letter off them, thought it was going to be asking to restart but it was actually a letter thanking me for the support I'd given them. As soon as I could I restarted my donation to UNICEF.

Cancel it and tell them why. You should also share the charity!

It’s a local hospital one, rather than a large national one

Thanks for the replies, and validation over how I feel anyway.
