To be shocked DH doesn’t wash his legs and feet in the shower?

had to use the toilet while DH was in the shower this morning and noticed that he doesn’t actually wash his legs or feet.

I asked him about it and he said he never does, he just lets the water and soap run over them and that washes them … 🤢

A) how did I not know this about him?
and B) is this normal? Do people do this.

I wash every part of my body everyday in the shower.

AIBU?

This has been a common discussion on radio shows etc for years.

Some people do and some people don’t.

The usual argument is the suds all trickle down that way anyway.

Me personally I focus shower gel on my smelly areas and legs get a quick rub down with whatever is left before rinsing off.

purplepencilcase · 08/12/2022 09:18

Yawn. This one has been done to death on here!

poefaced · 08/12/2022 09:18

Do you wash with a loofah? Washing your body with hands and shower gel doesn’t remove dead skin cells anyway. 🤢

Everyone washes differently.

minimarshmallowsmore · 08/12/2022 09:23

If after showering that way they don't smell or have any visible grime then they're clean. What else is washing for?

SummaLuvin · 08/12/2022 09:26

I'd be a bit more disgusted by my partner coming in to take a dump when I was showering to be honest.

DisforDarkChocolate · 08/12/2022 09:26

Does he have smelly feet? If not, leave him to it.

But feet are smelly areas🤢

You're married so I'm going to assume you've known each other for some time and you've been up close and personal with his legs in that time. You haven't noticed a problem until now so clearly it's sufficient.

This was the bit I was shocked at 😂.

Ansumpasty · 08/12/2022 09:27

I have never once washed my legs and feet in the shower. If I shave, they get foam on them, but that’s it.

DisforDarkChocolate · 08/12/2022 09:27

Not all feet smell @Kissmybaubles , mine rarely do so they don't get thoroughly washed every day. Other places get washed every day.

ApolloandDaphne · 08/12/2022 09:28

I don't wash my feet in the shower. They don't smell.

DameHelena · 08/12/2022 09:29

With legs, I agree that the soapy water trickles down that way anyway. I do wash my feet though, in between my toes especially.

Oh God this! That's a hard boundary in my marriage.

LuciferRising · 08/12/2022 09:31

Nothing like taking a nice shower while your partner fills the room with the smell of crap.

The heat and steam really add to it too! 😷

Beamur · 08/12/2022 09:34

OP have you ever looked at your husband and thought 'his legs and feet aren't clean' No? There's your answer.

RudsyFarmer · 08/12/2022 09:34

You can get something that sticks to the bottom of the shower which you can rub you’re feet on as you wash.

I'm with you.

Womanofcustard · 08/12/2022 09:36

Why would you wash your legs (unless you’ve been mudlarking)?

Tricyrtis2022 · 08/12/2022 09:38

I use a brush on my legs because I get dry skin on my shins. And always between my toes as they seem to collect all sorts of crud.

Singinghollybob · 08/12/2022 09:41

I'd be more shocked if my partner wanted to use the toilet whilst I was in the shower 🤢

SalviaOfficinalis · 08/12/2022 09:41

Feet yes, legs no.

Going to the toilet while DH in shower and observing his habits, definitely not.

Westfacing · 08/12/2022 09:42

Surely running soapy water will wash his legs and feet, unless he's covered in engine oil or similar!

Personally I like to exfoliate with a mitt thing so do go all over but it's hardly necessary.

Mentalpiece · 08/12/2022 09:42

I wondered when the leg / feet washing in the shower debate would get another outing.
