to find MIL annoying

My MIL could possibly be the worst. She never wanted us to have kids as DH is slightly disabled despite the fact his specialist said any kids we have are unlikely to have any problems.
She has just told my dh that I trapped him into marrying me by getting pregnant with ds!!!! Which makes me laugh seeing as we planned ds and worked out the days i was ov!! Also we found out I was pregnant the 14th july 2006 the day BEFORE we got married. How I planned the wedding in 24 hours I'll never know.
Am I just going over the top?

She sounds like she's in the top 1%. You must be very proud

Saturn74 · 01/02/2008 10:59

Bless her.
Buy her a toilet roll holder in the form a doll with a knitted crinoline dress for Christmas.
It is the best kind of revenge.

Yeah very.
I've never known anyone to be so annoying. Is it wrong to want to try and find a job I can do from home so she doesn't need to look after ds?

No, it's not wrong at all. She doesn't sound like the sort of personality you want around your dc for too many hours a day.

kayzr · 01/02/2008 11:07

My dh says she has always been like this.

You seriously need to tell her to butt out, it is none of her business and don't let her get out of hand. It is best to get limits well defined up front as she will just continue to be intefering and rude (I talk from personal experience)

dingdong05 · 01/02/2008 11:21

No, she sounds like a pill.

finknottle · 01/02/2008 11:26

You need to have as little to do with her as possible, for your sanity.

Seriously, it can turn into a downward spiral of anger, resentment, tension...

Barbed wire now and focus on your lovely dh and ds

NoBiggy · 01/02/2008 11:30

If you've only got as far as annoyed then you're doing very well indeed!

Thanks everyone. My mum lives across the road from her and is about ready to go and kill her.
