To be very disappointed in my Roomba?

I got a Roomba in the black Friday sales, a fairly basic model that both mops and vacuums.

I don't have a large house at all, and it's all hard flooring except for some mats by the doors.

It seems to clean relatively well when it goes, BUT 9 times out of 10 it abandons the cleaning job because it gets 'stuck'. It gets stuck in the most ridiculous places, that I really don't think should be challenging for it.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Any tips?

At the moment it's creating me more work keep resetting it up to do the job again, and not knowing how much it has actually completed!

Can you re-map and add exclusion zones around the stuck points? Mine rarely gets stuck now.

See this is the thing - I assumed it'd have this function as standard but I can't seem to find these on the app at all.

It doesn't seem to have a 'map' it just bumps it's way around. Do the cheap ones not have that?!

What Roomba do you have? Have you mapped your home at all or just set it to vacuum everywhere? Mapping is a standard feature. I have set various frequent use zones as well as exclusion zones, all through the app.

I have a low spec one that just bumps around. You will learn what it gets stuck on and just prep the room better to move roomba hazards like leads etc. out of the way.

I bloody love my roomba.

@isthisexpected I have the combo one that does mopping and vacuuming, definitely doesn't seem to have mapping unfortunately. Had I realised it was just a mindless drone I'd probably have gone for a better one.

@Paq - I think we have the same one then. It seems to go over the room about 3 times too!
I have already moved all obstructions but it literally gets stuck on a doormat, or a corner

I have just learned to move obstacles away, takes a few minutes before I start it up.

I don't mind if it goes over the same spot several times, I just enjoy the know that something else is making the floors clean ☺️
