To feel stuck with family I hired

Hi all,

My family member has a cleaning business. I needed a cleaner so I asked him. When he sends the cleaners they are absolutely brilliant.
The issue is they have let me down 6 times in the space of a couple of months. I get a weekly clean and it really helps me because I work a stressful job and I’m also a carer. It’s really important for my mental health which may sound ridiculous but I function better in a clean organised home. Obviously I do it when they don’t show up.

I really feel for my family member. He has about 10 cleaners but he’s not making loads of money and it’s not his fault staff are ringing in sick all the time.
Its now been 3 weeks since someone came to clean.
I want to hire someone else but I don’t want to fall out with him and I know my family member has struggled to get clients recently and is struggling with money.
what would you all do?

Just explain that this arrangement is no longer working for you and that you need reliability. You have been more than patient and given enough time for the issues to be sorted. If he is unable to find and keep reliable staff then there is an issue with the staff he is employing or his ability to run the business. Is he employing experienced cleaners or giving jobs to mates? This is a common mistake as mates will always chance their arm!
