Just looked on Instagram and now I feel like a potato

I've entered into a very dark vortex on Instagram. Ten a penny girls aged 25 and under, all with masses of long hair, (usually blonde), gleaming perfectly straight teeth, sunkissed, revealing outfits, Incredible eyelashes, very plump lips.
As I say these women are ten a penny on Instagram, most have a very similar look. I know a lot of it is fake/fillers but I feel so bland in comparison. Is this really what men find most attractive? The number of followers they've got should give it away.

Do all the people around you look like this as well? Literally every single person you know, every friend you have, every woman in your street? I don't think so

I don't think for a second that you actually look like a potato. Maybe you don't look like a fake-y Instagrammer, but most people don't. I am sure you look like a normal lovely real woman.

No not everyone does, but I definitely see people like that in real life

It's called plastic (fake eyelashes, fake lips, fake boobs), some poor woman's hair (extensions), skin damage (sun tan) and Photoshop.

There is not a single natural thing about those looks and photos, and it is why people trying to emulate it in real life look ridiculously badly made up.

You are not a potato, you are a perfectly normal human being.

I once met a woman who reminded me of a potato. I’ve met thousands of people over the years and only the one that made me think “potato” - so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility, but it’s very rare to be potatoey, so probably not. You probably look like a normal woman who hasn’t done a vast amount of grooming and isn’t under 25.

follow lots of accounts on insta that are “40+ style” or “50+“ and you’ll see a range of body shapes and older, far more interesting and expressive faces. Some will have had a bit of help, but rarely are a uniform look.

and no, not every man likes the same type of woman.

Remember it's a highlight reel, people only post their absolute best on there and it's no reflection on actual reality at all

I find it quite sad for young women these days having to deal with social media pressures like Instagram and all of the fake editing or those getting implants, fillers etc

I think it's really sad that the value of everything including people is the way they look now. It's all about superficiality and we have social media to thank for that. I'm sure you're very attractive but even if you're not, you are a whole person with value intrinsic in your SELF. Nothing to do with what you look like in a photo.

It's not really. My cousin is one of these so called influencers and she looks like a different person these days. Actually scary what fillers, make up and photo editing can do

With the right angles and make up etc I can look like an insta “model” type on photos , wrong angles and I genuinely also do look like a potato 😂 reality is somewhere in the middle , they are just photos !

Lots of men do indeed find it attractive. Some don't of course; but I'd go as far as to say most men don't have any problem at all with scantily clad, sun kissed young women with long blonde hair. (Although I believe some find lip fillers and heavy make up less appealing.)
But given the average man is not likely to stand a chance with one of them, it makes very little difference to the average woman's prospects, as in reality men tend to date who will have them. Some are even sensible enough to pretend they prefer 'a natural look' to the gorgeous young blondes!

They absolutely do not look like that in real life. I agree with the poster who said they look caked in make up and a bit ridiculous when you see someone like that in the flesh.
Ad for men liking that look, well again do they have much of a choice?
If the majority of young women have fake breasts, fake bleached hair, fake eyelashes, lip fillers, wear fake tan, fake eyelashes then it’s either date them or stay single I guess.
My advice, stop looking at this crap and it is crap. Just because something is popular it does not make it good.

You need to transfer over to my (accidental) vortex OP. I once clicked something to do with dogs and now all it sends me is reels of fluffy dogs being cute. I have no idea where all these dogs are coming from but it’s better than looking at lip filler babes
