I ordered an air fryer from Very back in November, out of stock but due back in at the start of December.

27th November I get a notification that it is being delivered on the 30th.

30th comes and no sign of it being delivered that day, so I changed it to collection from the local depot. They said it would be ready on the 2nd.

Went to the depot on the 2nd to be told it wasn't there and was in a van somewhere but they'd have to look for it and they'd call me back tomorrow (today) morning. I found this strange as obviously it hadn't been loaded onto a van according to the tracking, and they had almost two days to find it and have it ready for me.

I couldn't come back next week so I asked for delivery today instead since the tracking had changed (funnily enough on the night of the 30th) said it was awaiting to be loaded, which I found strange because if I'd said I wanted to collect then why would they load it?

I still haven't had a phone call, there is no sign of it being delivered today at all either.

AIBU to think they've "lost" it or someone has taken it since it apparently hasn't left the depot, and don't want to say so?

As an aside, this is a replacement for one that was also "lost", that time by Evri. I need a bigger one to act as a temporary oven until I get my oven fixed, and all the ones i can find locally are either the two drawer ones or the smaller 4l ones or smaller.

YANBU to think they’ve lost it. YABU if you think a strongly worded email is going to make any difference to when you get your air fryer (or any other delivery).

I’m sorry it’s not turned up and your stuck without an oven. Hope you find a solution soon.

If you complain to Very they might refund your delivery costs but I wouldn’t bother with Yodel tbh.

It seems all couriers are having problems just now, it’s a mixture of Black Friday, Christmas and Royal Mail strikes. It would be nice to be kept updated properly though, especially if you have to wait in all day!

I know ranting isn't going to change anything, but I'm just so p'd off that I drove there to get it to be fobbed off through an intercom.

Strongly worded email 😂😂😂

The only way I found of getting in touch was them was after writing a review on trustpilot. Weeks and weeks after something was meant to be delivered. They commented with an email address as though they were going to fix it and then never did.

they are the absolute worst. I actively avoid ordering from companies that I know use them.

YANBU, but the seller has the contract with Yodel and they are the ones who need to sort it or refund you. So start with them.

Another thing you can do is to enter the tracking number on the website, then click help, and then the question mark icon at the bottom of the help page; the web agent will give you the last known location of your item based on when the barcode was scanned. Screen shot that to show the seller.

I don't know who is worse, them or Evri. Recently had two parcels go missing from Evri (including the first air fryer) and now I'm getting the run around from Yodel!

I can't fault the drivers, though, everything seems to go into some magical black hole in the depot never to be seen again!

Update: I messaged Very and they've magically found it again and it's out for delivery.

Now let's see if it gets here...

Fingers crossed, ellesworth!

A few years ago I had a hard backed book delivered by them which was completely broken. How you can break a book I don’t know.
I also had a Blu-ray player and TV that got ‘lost’ when being delivered by them. Both were posted in the display box so the contents were clear. They have been much better recently to be fair.

This is what I ended up doing.I had a very unsatisfactory conversation with someone on their 'Chat ' facility,so I left a report on Trust Pilot and got a response straightaway.

I've had trouble with Yodel on two separate occasions in the past month. As a result I'm now checking to see who is doing the delivery before I complete an online purchase at checkout.

It's been delivered! Wonders will never cease!

I made chips in it about 3ish and never got any because DS6 decided he was having them as an early lunch (then wanted a tin of macaroni at half five, blech!)
