To think the pharmacist gave out of date medication

My mother was given a 60 day supply of medicine by the pharmacy on 20 October but the medicine packaging had EXP 11/2022 written on it which I assume means medicine expires in November 2022.
i am going to the pharmacy on Monday but wanted to ask if this was normal / acceptable practice.

No, not acceptable. The expiry will be 30/11/22 so its fine to supply enough of that batch to last up until then. but the supply for 1/12/22 onwards needs to be from a batch with a longer expiry.

So you just bring back the medicine and swap it out. It only expired 2 days ago. It’s an oversight I presume, not great admittedly but a few days over expiry will be fine.

DD is a dispenser in a pharmacy. She wouldn’t have given a supply of 60 days drugs on October 20th with an expiry date 11/22, because the patient can’t use the drugs up in time.

She might have given a box of 30 with an expiry date 11/22, and then another box of 30 with a longer expiry date; let the patient know and then told the patient to use the first box up first.

Her pharmacy throws drugs away, three months before their expiry date,
