AIBU To Think Twitter Is Now Irretrievably Broken

Kanye West has now been banned from Twitter by Musk.

He should never have been allowed back on.

AIBU to think that Musk has now completely ruined Twitter and that it has become too toxic to use?

Musk has actually done mroe about antisemitism than Jack Dorsey ever did. And he's actually doing something about the paedophiles on there too.

My TL is enriched by feminists who were banned for saying men can’t be women, and have now been reinstated, so it’s not broken at all for me.

I think overall the world would be a better place without Twitter so I wouldn't mind a bit if it implodes. I do think there should be much more legislation around ownership and decision making for social media platforms though - one person should not have this much power,especially without any kind of public mandate.

If Twitter is now officially happy to carry covid misinformation that should be the end for any reputable information source using Twitter as it’s Comms feed. So things will likely get more unhinged. Twitter may have done the right thing with Kanye’s anti semitism ban but Twitter still has massive problems. The worry is what will replace it.

I am finding fewer people on my list of followers because of my stance on the trans issue.
It is almost impossible to say that men cannot be women without a massive pile-on from the TRAs.
Maybe it's fairer to say that I am planning to abandon Twitter, rather than that it has become broken by Musk.

I dont interact at all with TRAs but I am on their block list so they probably can't see what I am saying. Which suits me just fine. All the normal people can see what I post under newspaper headlines etc and the rabid TRAs can't dispute my words as they don't know I'm saying them. Win win.

Musk seems to have broken Twitter's financial future, given how many advertisers have walked away.

I think it is a bit broken, yes. Whether it is redeemable we will ahve to wait and see. My timeline is fine, but the wider environment is worrying.

It’s improving imo, free speech is returning and there’s been a huge crackdown on child abuse accounts
