To want a linen suit for summer for my husband in winter?

We are going on a special once in a lifetime holiday to the Amazon (jungle not warehouse) in March 2023 and my dh would like a linen suit, perhaps pale blue or pale green or cream colour. Can’t find any that aren’t a mix of viscose etc. Thought I’d tap into the MN hive mind!

Just been on Etsy yes there are some lovely ones on there, reasonable prices too!

A quick google for 'men linen suit' will find loads of hits in a wide range of prices.

You might be better buying one that is a mix as linen creases very badly and looks crumpled very quickly

Ok so the Etsy prices are for a swatch only - £70 then made for you which is lovely and bespoke but could do that ‘in person’ with someone - was looking for something off the peg which is quite hard to find, maybe the season……

Do you know of any shops that normally sell them in the Summer? If its a smaller independent then they are likely to have them out the back stored for the season to change. Might be worth calling a few formal wear shops to see.

Have you tried ebay/vinted? Esp if it’s out of season

Try Corning’s. Other than that, does he use a tailor? Although time is getting tight to have one made.

Hawes and Curtis are a legit brand. DF swears by Charles Tyrwhitt but they don't have linen suits in stock at the mo.

Have a look at Darcy’s men’s clothing. They do a lot of historical stuff but I think they do some linen suits

Why don’t you want a viscose linen blend? The reason it’s often used is because it creases less than 100% linen, I prefer it.

If you have a traditional men's outfitters in your town/city they will have them or tell you when they get them in. They are unlikely to be in city centres, ours is on a suburban Street parade of shops and is like a step back in time, but they sell exactly what you describe and proper Panama hats too.

Sounds an amazing trip planned, is it tgd Holland America one, I've been coveting that itinerary for 2024

Have you checked dress codes op? I have been on a number of trips like this and a suit would have been very over dressed.

ASOS online have men's linen suits, they do mix and match, you can get suit trousers, suit shorts, waistcoats, jackets.
My oh bought trousers, jacket and a waistcoat for a destination wedding.
