To ask for info on Oxford Owl Reading Levels Vs Book Band colours?

Posting here for traffic. Can anyone help with the difference between Oxford Owl Reading Levels vs Book Band Colours?

My dd has a new Reading book but the Oxford Owl stage doesn't match the book band colour. In fact whilst the stage has gone up from 8 to 9 the book band colour has gone back to turquoise from purple. Is this usual?

There's only been 4 books issued since the summer hols which is concerning me so maybe making me look at this too closely!

We're in Scotland if that makes a difference.

Thanks, I had checked that but am confused as the book shows 2 different things. Level 9 and book bank turquoise which don't line up in the table and the book band colour has regressed from previous. I must be dim!

Turquoise and Purple (on either scheme) are based more on comprehension and the ability to retrieve information from the text, rather than just decoding and recognising words. I just wanted to note that while a child might move up quite quickly in Reception and Year 1, it is natural for them to slow down as there are different goals for the higher bands.

Definitely a lot of cross over between the two bands! Also might be as simple as they wanted to check understanding of something specific or that they’re regrouping or (most annoyingly) there simply weren’t enough books for the reading group available due to being used by others etc
