My friend had a thing for my partner (we dated 2 years). I’ve never seen her act this way with my previous partners, lots of unnecessary touching and over laughing at not that funny jokes.

It was harmless and we laugh about her crush now we’ve been broken up for 3 years - it did make me uncomfortable at the time though.

Anyone else?

A friend of my sil used to make a right arse of herself over my dh. Behind my back she made proper plays for him, but to my face it was always oh so innocent. Absolutely zero dignity.

Yes I’m interested in how you dealt with it at the time. I’m finding it really cringy … lots of over the top ‘isn’t he wonderful’ ‘have you got a brother’ comments. All said in jest but repeated adfinitum. DH bit uncomfortable and tries to deflect the conversation away from how marvellous he is!! I’m just find it embarrassing on her behalf

A waitress once asked out my husband when we were on a date in the restaurant 😱 he was settling the bill and she asked him if he was doing anything the next night and could she get his number!! He said “Errrrr well I’ll probably be with my wife. This lady here”. And she just said “Oh OK”. I complained, it was Pizza Hut, we got a free takeaway 😂

Not since we've been married. But when DH and I met we were in an extended group of friends that contained several women that he'd been in relationships with for a few months over the years (we were in our early 20s and it was all a bit incestuous!). It was mostly fine - I'm still good friends with one - but one in particular, lets call her Vera, obviously had a problem with me. She would turn up at various things she wasnt invited to, on her own, and just sort of linger. She told several mutual friends that she thought I was "lame" (fair, couldn't give a shit) and that DH could do better.

DH and I used to giggle about it because she was a slightly ridiculous person. Claimed to have invented loads of stuff she obviously hadn't invented, was an artist and talked about her work like she was Tracy Emin.

After DH and I had been together 3-4 years we decided to get married, have a baby and leave London. I got pregnant quite quickly. At our leaving drinks, like an apparition, she appeared. Didn't speak to me all evening. Then towards the end of the night she came up to me-

Vera: So. You're knocked up?
Me: Yup.
[silence]
Vera: Bye then.

And that was the end of Vera. 🤷‍♀️

Also double dated with BIL in pizza express (must be something about pizzas that makes my DH more attractive 😂) and his new GF. She pissed herself laughing at EVERYTHING DH said, even “where’s the loo”. The more she had to drink the more she was ridiculously OTT with him. He were supposed to go to the cinema with them after but called it a night and BIL dumped her the next day.

Thinking about it, we also had Christmas at my mum’s the year we got married. She invited her friends and their adult DD and her BF. Adult DD was sat next to DH, pissed as a fart and all over him. DH was also pissed and went to the loo to be sick, she was banging on the door drunkenly saying “Are you OK Wickham?! Do you need me to rub your back?” Wholst me and the Bf were Confused

My husband he is quite good looking and very successful. Many woman hit him all the time. His secretary, lots of woman in his company and Lots of my friends too. But i think my husband know that kind of women only wants him for his money. I stand by him since he was nothing. He always believe i’m his lucky charm. I trust him a lot.

My DH has had a couple of problems over the years with women connected to his work. Eg companies he visits . He had one a bit bunny boiler used to ring our house with silent calls. And recently another girl at a company he has to pass thru for work in another part of the country invited him to a weekend party which he declined. But she persisted in saying that he could stay at hers, he declined , that he was married… that we had other plans that weekend, that he just didn’t want to as he is older than he looks and can’t be arsed with parties at his age… She kept going on and on… In the end he had to be very direct , rude and cross and said I’m not going to the party, I’m married and not interested in you. To which she burst into tears and he got glares from the rest of the receptionists and her manager went off to comfort her

ffs

One of my mum and dad's neighbours has a crush on my dad. She is 85 my dad is 72, my mum finds it hilarious. The lady told me she thinks he is handsome and finds it lovely that he still has a full head of hair and lovely white teeth.
He looks like Godfrey from dad's army but a slightly younger version. 😂

malificent7 · 29/11/2022 03:25

On a night out with dh and our dance group. One lady said to her adult dd in front of me " don't let me get drunk, i will only be reckless and I don't want to shit on another woman...they gave it hard enough as it is!" Whilst looking pointedly at me.

Awwwww.... bless you for being so considerate lovely!

My partner appeals to women. Not because he's particularly handsome, he's okay, but because he's really calm and personable (think Mick (Larry Lamb) in Gavin & Stacey). He always knows the right thing to say, to the right person, at the right time and can dissolve any tension instantly.

Young girls adore his 'Dad' vibe and seem to find his 'Dad' jokes hilarious. Most of his daughters' friends have had a crush on him at some point. We've been asked three times by random youngsters in pubs to adopt them because we're so 'cool' and so unlike their own parents .... not sure they really want me to adopt them IYSWIM! lol

One of my friends (now known to us as Jodhpur Girl) was the worst. A few months after we started dating, she was blitzed one night. My partner was discussing his daughter's horse and having to find an alternative stable for him, JG suddenly remembered she used to ride as a teen. She then went on, at tremendous length, to tell him how wonderful she looked in her jodhpurs and how she could probably still get into them if she still had them - touching his arm throughout to 'convince' him of this.

I've known her all our lives, and she has never even had one riding lesson. A few weeks after the incident, we were out for a meal, us and JG with her date. I brought up the subject of horse-riding She soberly confirmed she'd never been riding and really didn't fancy it at all. 😂

People used to hit on my exh and he was flirty and it was humiliating.
My bf of one year is gorgeous and women hit on him and he just politely deflects or ignores. He respects me and doesn’t want to lose me.
