Took to a&e last night due to low grade fever, one episode of vomiting and curled up in fetal position with I'd say fairly severe pain 'behind his belly button' - his words. My concern was appendicitis. He was seen within 20 mins (amazing) and they said it very well could be appendicitis but his urine test was normal and to only come back if he gets worse. They said it tends to get worse over time and no point staying in hospital when we live round the corner. Fair enough. Got home at 3am, both slept until around 11. He's still asleep but has woken up once to vomit again, curled up on the floor after and told me I couldn't touch him because his stomach is hurting too much. He then crawled back to bed. Won't let me anywhere near his abdomen. Stating he can't sit up or walk because his head hurts too much. But then it seems to ease off and he seems OK and is happy and giggly. Then back to sleep. No idea whether it's just a virus running it's course (most likely) or if I should get it checked out further! Wwyd?

It's just bloody embarrassing taking him back and him perking up and being all smiley and happy, then 30 mins after we've left, that'll be when he goes downhill again 😅

Having had appendicitis, and witnessed it in my brother as a child, there were no moments of smiling and giggling.

That's the only thing that makes me think it might not be.

Poor chap, either way, sounds rotten.

Apparently a good way to 'test' it is to see if he can jump. But obviously do that during the "smiling giggling" times and not when he's curled up and shaking.
