Ordering new toys but used ones turn up?

I’ve been doing some Christmas shopping for my nephews and ordered a few things from Argos and a few things from Amazon.

most things have been fine but a couple of the things I’ve ordered have clearly been opened and used before. Boxes bashed, not taped down etc. you know you can just tell they’re not brand new?

nowhere in the listing does it say it’s used or whatever. This really annoys me and worries me that the toy inside won’t work properly or will have bits missing etc.

can anyone shed any light on this?

Returns that haven't been checked properly snd sent back out as new

I'd return them! That's not on and like you, I'd worry they wouldn't work.

Yeah when you buy from Amazin you are often buying from a third party sellers via Amazon, and not all of them are honest. Amazon is fab and I love it but you do have to keep a careful eye on what you receive. I don’t buy from sellers based in China anymore, too many fakes.

As above - on amazon I always scroll down to where it says 'sold by amazon and dispatched by amazon' then I compare and buy.

XanaduKira · 24/11/2022 22:47

I didn't realise that was a thing. Does that mean they can't be returned @Dontaskdontget @FamKeNekson?

Amazon often sells returns that aren't quite new (e.g. ripped box) for a discount price, but it's made obvious when you're buying that that's what you're getting. So sounds like this is an error.
