To call the docs and tell them i have scarlet fever

Scarlet fever rife in dc school last week.
Dc unwell at weekend with high temp and vomiting but no rash.

This Sunday I start with chills and fever plus aching body.
Called docs today as red raw throat and got fobbed off with a phone call back and told I would get prescribed throat spray and no antibiotics as no bacterial infection in my throat evident (how they could see that over the phone is a mystery)

My stomach and chest now covered in a rash but high temp gone. Is it likely rash is unrelated or is my self diagnosis more likely?

Call back and asked to be seen in person. My son had scarlet fever which was misdiagnosed by the gp and a@e. I googled it in the end took him back and said I was right so he got antibiotics.

Definitely call back and explain that it's likely to be scarlet fever as you may need antibiotics.

The rash appearing a few days after you first feel unwell is very common.

You have my sympathy OP. The way GPs treat their patients now is disgusting. Everyone knows they are stretched but so are the hospitals and staff there don't treat you with the same contempt. My GP tells everyone to use the online booking system and it has said 'sorry no bookable appointments' continuously when I've checked every few hours for the last 5 days. I've been on hold for 50 and 65 minutes today trying to get through on the phone. 111 also not answering. I'm also trying to get antibiotics. We all know the system is broken but to have you there in the waiting room and then not take the 10 minutes to get you processed and out of the queue is disgusting, if it's as you say it was.

Meant for the other threat about someone trying to get antibiotics for their child, apologies.
