Amazon says that it's too busy to place an order?

Anyone else got this? I'm mildly alarmed. It won't process the item.

Tbh, I’ve given up on Amazon for shopping , I have prime but rarely get the item delivered in the specified time and it’s become so expensive. I have paid for a year my renewal was just before the price hike in September but I’m not gonna bother again. I guess they’re busy because of the Black Friday deals and possibly short staffed. Hope you get it sorted.

Yes just had the same issue. It wouldnt let me update the payment method to my new card as there was a problem. I was able to cancel and reorder but got the same message as OP at checkout I

Had this problem at 4am too damn insomnia seems strange that it is so busy at 4am! Then it would not let me check out, so I gave up!

I think it depends who you're actually buying from on Amazon.

I've had loads of issues with the independent sellers on Amazon, card being declined, orders not going through etc. But with actual Amazon purchases, it's been fine.

When I spoke to my bank over an issue with one transaction, they advised me they've had similar complaints about Amazon and Ebay. Smaller retailers apparently aren't getting the new authorisation software (where you need to go into your app to authorise the transaction). So it automatically declines.
