I’m so tired and yet I can’t sleep. I work in tourism so on average I do 1 set of nights a month that’s ok I just about cope. However I’ve just done 3 weeks of nights back to back.

im now up for work at half 6 on days and I’m shattered. I barely get 30 mins of sleep at night then I’m up again and i continue to fight to sleep

ive also just been 2 weeks of nights over Christmas so mine is ruined. Not to drip feed but I suffer with a medical condition where fatigue kicks me and right now it’s going . Any tips or advice?

Would there be any way of not doing nights, given you have a medical condition that is affecting? Could you ask for a reasonable adjustment and get a letter from your doctor in support?

I don't envy you. Working nights is awful. I handed in my notice at a job with nothing to go to once because I was only getting two or three hours of sleep and I just couldn't deal with it any more.

I’m going to speak to my gp this week and try and grab a fit note that excludes me from working them. It’s not every month but my body can’t cope with them.

I salute anyone that does them full time. For me it’s not worth the extra cash. All I want to do is sleep and I physically can’t.

Buy some Sominex over the counter from Boots, it’s really helpful to get me back into a good sleep pattern when swapping shifts about.
