Does anyone actually buy anything from Ann Summers anymore?

I’ve seen some minor ‘celebs’ are endorsing Ann Summers, tbh I forgot it existed in recent years! It was always very expensive and with the likes of Love Honey etc now I struggle to see why anyone would buy stuff from AS?

AIBU to think it’s had it’s day?

Crikey who made you the boss of everyone's sex lives? As a side note after cancer treatment I had to use dilatory. The NHS ones were hard awful plastic which made an uncomfortable procedure worse.. Visiting an AS store they were fabulously helpful at suggesting things!

I got asked to elaborate so I did. I've no idea who you are, or why you should think I was criticising you.

A store opened near me a few months back. Whenever i walk past i never see any customers in there. It replaced a Disney Store. My DC were gutted.

There's one in a shopping centre near me and has been for a couple of decades, so someone's buying.

AriettyHomily · 21/11/2022 12:37

I find their 'normal' bras and knickers better than M&S. They have just moved into a much bigger unit in my town so people are buying stuff.

MadameOvary81 · 21/11/2022 12:58

I'm just about to do an order! There's a lovely chemise I want. I may push the boat out and get a couple of toys as stocking fillers while i'm at it ...it is Christmas after all....Tis the season to be jolly. ;)

I used to love AS and would have bought lingerie frequently. Now, it's overpriced for the quality imo.

Maybebabyno2 · 21/11/2022 13:14

I looked at some nursing bras on their website the other day as they had a sale on.

Maybebabyno2 · 21/11/2022 13:27

Just RTFT and this has inspired me to order some of their bras! I am a 30GG. Finding bras is an actual nightmare!

Waterfalls39 · 21/11/2022 13:35

I still have nightmares about a hen party night that was an Ann Summers party. I was about 20, and found out far more about my colleagues love lives than I had ever possibly wanted to know. Even the hen said she could kill her sister for arranging it Grin

I remember buying underwear as I felt I had to buy something and it was awful quality/fit.

Southland02 · 21/11/2022 13:57

Seems they are a hit with people still then.

I have tiny boobs so maybe that’s why I haven’t bought anything from them in years 😬

Yes, there’s one in my shopping centre too, but I hardly ever see anyone in there which is what prompted me to post really. People must shop in there though as it’s been there years.

Not used them for years I flit between love honey or honey birdette depending what I was and how flush I’m feeling.

StarlightLady · 21/11/2022 14:09

They provide a non sleazy environment for important items. I've bought from them from time to time. The lingerie quality is good. Vibey reliability/longevity seems to have improved in recent years so it's a while since I have "renewed" but when I do need a new one it's still my "go to'.

TheMoops · 21/11/2022 14:19

Some of their underwear is lovely and fits really well.

Never bothered with them to be honest, they don’t seem to cater for small chested ladies unless they’re stick thin. Always reinforced my lack of body confidence. I’m at the M&S stage of life now anyway!

This thread has been reassuring.

Small boobs and not stick thin, that's me. Good to see AS don't fit you comfortably either @Margot78

Those PPs who they do fit comfortably, it looks like you're bigger cup sizes. They clearly do very well catering for a section of the underwear market others don't.

Tesco is the most comfy and well fitting I've found for my body shape. Really frustrating that they produce more practical underwear than fun.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 21/11/2022 18:41

I got all my bridal underwear from there.
Wasn't all crotchless contraptions and suspenders.
I got some really nice lace pieces. I felt like a million bucks.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 21/11/2022 18:45

A no from me due to its mlm part of the business.

Hope you found something!

As a 32E who doesn't want massive padding/underwire all the way between my boobs/still wants pretty....it's definitely my go to place.

Boux avenue is awful IMO. But that's because they don't suit me. Not because they're actually awful.
