Step Dad bailing on mum's hospital appt for footie

My step dad had agree to take my mother to a doctors appointment for a heart check up on Monday. She can't drive at the moment and in any case she has to have someone with her for this appointment.

But he's just bailed because he wants to watch the England match live. Watching it on the sky box later isn't an option, apparently.

He watches a bit of football, but he's not exactly a superfan. The tight git wouldn't crack open his dusty old wallet to pay for tickets to "his" team, or pay for sky sports etc.

I will take her, but we were going to put the dog down on Monday. Now we can't and I don't know when my wife can get time off work so we can be there together.

Am I being unreasonable to think that England v Iran is a rubbish reason to break a promise?

You know in your heart of hearts this is unreasonable and so does your poor mum. Sadly you both know where family stands with this man

I'd be praying for a power cut.......

Also sorry about your dog

@ErrolTheDragon yeah, she has got pain. I don't think it's overwhelming or I wouldn't wait until Monday. It's a combination of what I think but am not certain is some kind of spinal pain, a bit of dementia and anxiety, muscle weakness, incontinence etc. She is still happy and waggy, but she always is. But she is old and needs to be let go.

She is on 3 different pain meds so hopefully it's controlled and can be controlled ok in the short term.

@dpotter ooh yes that would be nice. And thank you. The dog's had a long spoiled life. Its sad but ok.
