Friend's son has ADHD and is also autistic. He has been having 1 to 1 support in a mainstream school, mornings only.

The head took her aside this morning and said she wasn't sure they could cater for his needs for much longer and to consider an alternative school where his needs would be better met.

I know schools are ripe for rumours but there is a strong rumour that his 1 to 1 (who works afternoons elsewhere in the school) has been told she will finish at Christmas as they cannot afford her salary - it's her or a class teacher.

Am I right in thinking this is something we will see more and more of as schools struggle to cope with lack of finance? And that the most vulnerable are likely to be the first on the hit list.
