For some reason it won't let me post on my original thread, but for anybody still following I thought I would update!

Dd had surgery this afternoon and is recovering well! Fingers crossed this is now the end of the horrible journey we've had over the last 9 months!

I remember your thread, so happy to hear this and I really hope your poor DD will be in good health going forwards.

I followed your old thread. That’s amazing news! So glad you got there in the end.

One of mine had them out aged 2 due to sleep apnoea and my goodness it made a massive difference. Make sure you’re well stocked up on calpol and nurofen as you’ll need to give it regularly over the next week or two. I recommend giving a dose in the night too.

I really hope things improve for your DD!

Hi @ohnoohnoo I just went to ask how you were doing on the old thread and it didn't let me post either then I found this thread. So pleased for you that the surgery finally happened. Is she now off antibiotics? how is her tummy?

I imagine you are still dealing with the usual colds this time of year but hopefully things are looking up for you!

Thanks for checking in! She's doing so much better now, finally off all antibiotics and is actually starting to put on weight! She's still struggling with a sore stomach most days which I'm putting down to her being on antibiotics for almost 10 months straight! But we have started probiotics and multi vitamins so hopefully that should help settle it.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas Flowers

I'm so pleased that she's off antibiotics! Well done you for pushing for the appointment.

I hope this comment I'm about to make isn't too upsetting or you feel like I'm overstepping but I feel it needs to be said. Antibiotics can really fuck up a person's body and she's been on them so long I would be really worried. The effect IS reversible, but if the right steps aren't taken it can be life-long. The daily stomach aches should be taken so, so seriously. If I were you I would be a total food nazi and totally cut out all sugar and junk food from her diet. I'd also keep a food diary to check for intolerances and allergies that may have developed from long term antibiotics use.

Sorry I genuinely feel horrible for writing that because I know you've all gone through a dreadful time and probably just want to stop worrying. My DH has IBD and my DD has tonnes of allergies following antibiotic use, so I'm really sympathetic and hope you don't go through what we have. Hopefully your DD has better genes than our family and will bounce back.
