To think insurance has screwed me over?

in a car accident, driver drive through the red light and hit me. Insurance confirmed it was not my fault.

I’ve now had my renewal through and it’s gone from £400 to £800. I’ve asked why when they confirmed it wasn’t my fault. They said because they claim is still open and they therefore haven’t had their costs back and they don’t know if my no claims will be impacted.

So it’s not like I can even go elsewhere as I don’t know if I actually now have no years of no claims as they won’t tell me. So I either pay £800 and hope the other insurance company pay out and if they don’t then they won’t reduce my policy.

Unfortunately thats standard practice. I have two no fault claims from last year, and my insurance was loaded because of it. One has just come through this week as settled, the other one was an insured driver so could take years, and that will have some effect when I come to renew. Its shit, but normal.

I think they can amend it once claim is settled. Not sure if all insurers do this so ask them

No CLAIMS not no BLAME...
I got clobbered by this when my car was nicked & torched years ago. I protect my no claims now.
