DS is 2yrs 10 months. Struggling massively with his behaviour and hoping for someone to advise (hopefully reassure) if this is normal behaviour for his age or not, as I’m starting to worry whether it is. My older child didn’t really do any of this.
Huge meltdowns daily, usually if he can’t have something he wants. This involves screaming and throwing himself around repeatedly and can go on for a long time, he will often be sweating from exertion.
Affectionate and loving to me OH and his elder sibling. Friendly to other children, varies between friendly and happy to approach adult strangers at toddler groups etc to sometimes going completely the other way and being shy around adults. No issues with eye contact or loud noises etc. seems to enjoy age appropriate activities (soft play, the playground, football classes, singing songs) concerned he gets fixated on doing things in the same order - will ask for things a certain way every time “I want paw patrol, I want baby shark, I want Blippi” for example if asked what he would like on tv. Likes to line his toys up.
Communication wise he can say phrases and sentences, knows the word for most things, but doesn’t yet have full conversations with me.
I asked a health visitor if she thought he was on the spectrum and she said no. I don’t know any other kids who behave in the same way. Is anyone able to advise/reassure if this is all sounding typical of his age or not?
Thanks
