To ask to change hotel rooms?

I’m not sure if I’m being precious. I’m in a 4* in Bali.

I found 5 black bugs crawling around the room - one was even in the bed.
The air con leaks and has actually ruined some papers I left on the desk
I heard someone push something through my door and it was actual trash. A screwed up barcode, a clothes tag.

The air con is a leisonaires risk (as is my dubious spelling).

that does not sound pleasant. I would ask to move .

You can ask to change for any reason. Go ahead.

I'd report the issues and see if they offer a change or perhaps some other options (e.g., someone can repair the air conditioner). The trash through the door may not be in the hotel's control. But there's nothing wrong with asking - a reasonable hotel will prefer that you make them aware of the issues and let them try to fix rather than complaining when you leave (or later) or just being unhappy/not recommending or returning to the hotel

I don’t think I would complain about bugs. It’s Bali. It would be like complaining I saw a fly. I used to live in Asia and lizards would get into our high rise flat. No idea how. The little shits. Depends on the bugs I suppose.
The barcode thing is weird. But probably not the fault of the hotel.
The air con is an issue for sure though.

I changed hotels (just because I could get the original one I wanted for long enough) and I didn’t see one bug in the previous one.

The trash thing was weird, so I heard women talking outside and I presumed they were the cleaners as they were out there for so long, banging around and hoovering - I had do not disturb, heard the person by the door and then because I was on a call all I saw was a small white thing pushed under the door and I thought it was a note.

The fact that you can see bugs is probably a good thing, that means your hotel isn't drowning their grounds in pesticides. The only bugs I would worry about is bedbugs and similar.

The paper being pushed in is probably nothing at all to worry about, but I would ask for the AC to be looked at.
