Like so many other MNers, I have been banned from HPC for questioning the group think

What right does anyone have to sneer at a struggling family, with a disabled father, like this? Is there no decency on HPC?

I agree with you, there are too many people ready to make judgements which seems logical at the time - but not if they fall on hard times. I've seen it happen with others over the years.

I think people displaying poor financial decision making whilst trying to garner sympathy should be called out, so YABU
