To hate the celebrity versions of gameshows?

I love gameshows, even the oldies like price is right, the old catchphrase etc.
But I've always hated celebrity versions, I know they do it for charity but I much prefer the everyday people versions.

Example, I loved family fortunes but never watched Vernon Kay's All Star; same with Catchphrase - I haven't been watching the celebrity one

Anyone else the same?

Celeb pointless is quite fun

Any TV program is ruined if the first word of the program is 'celebrity'.

I mean if you delete the word celeb from the title it’s often quite hard to notice it’s the celebrity version.

I’m a huge fan of celeb culture but this I don’t mind - they do it for charities on pointless, don’t they?

That is a very good point. I often have no idea who some people are.

Yup, hate them. Also the money then ends up going to massive charities who already make tons and pay their CEOs half a mil, rather than in the pockets of families who could genuinely need the money.

I agree OP, I try to avoid the celeb versions. Would much rather watch normal people and normal families try to win money.

I like them. Better than the random wannabes of the general public.

And the celebs often choose smaller charities too, who really need the money.

I don't mind them. I prefer to watch entertaining people than average Joes. I always thought Pointless Celebrities was a great name for a show as well
