Happy with that, considering I had to skip 1A and 6A, because the words just wouldn't come to mind. Solved the remaining "across" clues in order, then the "down" clues in reverse order.

I don't think the 1D answer is offensive but then haven't ever heard it used outside of films or TV shows set in the first half of the 20th century.

Maybe it was a local thing or an early 90's thing if no one else knows it in that context.

I always thought 1D was a sort of 40s/50s type version of DelBoy, not particularly offensive.
