To wear opaque tights with sandals

I am going to a restaurant party next weekend and I am planning to wear a silver short sleeve shift dress . It feels too short to wear bare legs.

I have some black suede platform sandals with a chunkyish heel and ankle straps, I think they look OK but I am unsure if others will think that they look odd.
What do you think?

I’m not a fan of open toes shoes with tights but am by no means a fashion expert!

I think black with black you'll get away with, tights with sandals does seem wrong to me but some of the much younger/fashionable staff at work do it. Eg black tights with chunky heeled gold sandals

Of course you wouldn't be unreasonable. It doesn't affect anyone except you.

I really like the open toe sandal with black or coloured opaque tights look - the sandal does have to be quite chunky to pull it off though I think.

Maybe a a nude sheer would be better

I think open toed sandals with opaques look ok as long as the heel is chunky and closed in, not a totally strappy sandal.

I haven't tried it but sometimes look at my bright yellow hasbeens and think they might work with black tights.
