Two day old JL sofa has just gone in their sale- should we return and rebuy?

We've just spent a small fortune on two sofas and an armchair at John Lewis (roughly £5,000) and asked at the point of sale if they'd be having any upcoming sales/offers on furniture. We were told no- absolutely not by the sales associate. I've just logged into their website to see the sofas we've ordered have been reduced by 35% PER ITEM!!! WIBU to return these sofas and re-buy at the reduced price? Should I call them beforehand and explain what has happened and hope they give us a retrospective discount?

Contact them - don't they have a 30 day price guarantee or something - equivalent of the never knowingly undersold? For the sake of an email/phone call, there's not much to lose...

Yes, I would. But definitely call and ask for the discount first.

However, if you've already made a purchase with us and the price has since reduced at John Lewis (either online or in-store), you can still submit a claim for a price drop refund using our form within 35 days of purchase.

Looks like you can just contact them. That was from there website
