I don't have any social media platforms apart from Snapchat to literally keep in touch with a few of my family members who use it. (And obviously here but that doesn't count!)

A while back a friend added me and I accepted. Seen then she posts rather strange posts about not bothering with people anymore, being angry on a hourly basis and gets angry if people don't message her. Haven't spoken to her for a while and the posts were getting a bit strange and attention seeking for my liking. She then ramps up the attention seeking posts.

So I deactivated it for a day (literally 8 hours) for a break, soon as I'm back on she's messaging me "why did you delete me?" Obviously i replied saying I haven't as she's still there and now she's back to posting crappy quotes And things.

AIBU to find this strange and passive aggressive? I would really like to delete her off but if she reacts like that over me deactivating.. just not sure what to do! Should I grey rock? This is why I don't have much SM some people feel like they are entitled to you it makes me feel strange.

How real is this friend as a friendship?

Do you speak to this friend on WhatsApp?

if yes, message her there and arrange a catch up.

If no, delete without a second thought.

I think I’d just say that I find social media quite draining and I’m not using it anymore

Paddingtonthebear · 12/11/2022 08:04

Then just block her on SM 😆

Only issue is she's draining over catch ups too. And doesn't ask me anything about my own life! But I have to be civil for dc.

Saying I'm deleting it and then delete her might work I think, good shout!

does Snapchat give you the option to mute her posts?
