To ask for help with music players for kids!

DD8 would like something to play music through for Christmas. I'm struggling to find something with a reasonable price tag that has the functionality I want.

I'd like to be able to link it to either Spotify or Amazon music, because I don't want to have to buy MP3s. I'd also like it to have a screen, as she would like to be able to look through playlists (as opposed to just speaking to Alexa). It doesn't need to have a good speaker as I'm happy to buy either a Bluetooth or wired speaker. I also don't want Alexa as I want it to be portable eg so she could listen to offline lists in the car.

The only options I can think of are a phone or tablet, but are there any actual music players that provide this function, for less than say £80? We have a shared family tablet, but I want her to be able to have this whenever she wants (within reason) and not wait to use the tablet. And I don't really want her having a phone so young.

We were looking for the same.
In the end we got an MP3 player, but there's this:

Kindle Fire? £60 on Amazon and she will have a great little tablet too.

I saw the mighty audio but you can't see playlists on a screen, from what i can see. @Tigofigo do you just buy mp3s when they want instead then? Already having Amazon Music, I had hoped to not have to fork out for mp3s, but have the flexibility of listening to lots of different things. Have you found it restricting in terms of letting them explore new music?

Kindle is the tablet we share as a family, I guess the best option might just be to get her her own and link to a Bluetooth speaker. I kind of wanted something that didn't have all the other options of Internet, games etc on the same device as I feel she'll go on them more often than I currently allow.

amzn.to/3O3N4GZ Would the echo with a screen work. I don’t know.

Oh I hadn't seen those, thanks.
