What does the Gender Reform Bill mean for single sex spaces?

I have been reading and reading about this all day. I don't understand, what does it mean for single sex spaces? If someone still with a penis changes their gender to a female can they use female spaces?

It states -

GRCs (and therefore gender recognition reform) do not affect access to single sex spaces. This is covered by the Equality Act, which states that services should be delivered on the basis of gender identity except in certain restricted circumstances where a service can demonstrate that excluding trans people constitutes a ‘proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim’ regardless of whether the person in question has a GRC.

But under the equality act, transgenders are protected?

I'm confused. I'm in Scotland and worried about this.

It means single sex spaces are unlikely to remain single sex. Effectively they become gender neutral (mixed sex) as people can self identify into the gender they feel most fits.

The Equality Act does allow organisations to provide single sex facilities where needed but, in practice, this is likely to need to be established by a court case after a trans person is denied entry or asked to leave a space as they could claim discrimination by being denied access.

A transgender person could simply use the supposedly single sex space relying on the unwillingness of others to challenge for fear of being thought bigoted.

It means mens wants are prioritised over Womens dignity and safety (again) -and it’s about to become embedded in law

It means sometimes single sex means single sex and sometimes it doesn't. Helpful eh?

It doesn't sound good. And I have always been a strong supporter of the SNP.
