To be fed up of waiting for Tesco delivery

The slot was from 9 to 10pm and now at 11.35pm, it still hasn't arrived.
What do you do in these situations?
How late do you wait up? We need milk for the morning but I am so tired.

It’s not coming now

IncessantNameChanger · 10/11/2022 23:36

Yes agree in my experience it won't be coming

tobee · 10/11/2022 23:36

I've had this a couple of times and rang them up. They should be able to deal with it if they're helpline is 24 hours

MakeItADouble2 · 10/11/2022 23:45

Yes you are right- it says its been delivered but blatantly hasn't.
Their telephone lines close at 11pm .

What kind of compensation should I expect?
Massive hassle as no milk for tea or breakfasts

"What kind of compensation should I expect?"

They should burn the store down and publicly execute the driver.

How do you know that the driver hasn't been involved in an rta that has left them seriously injured?

SpinningFloppa · 11/11/2022 00:02

Tescos told me that after the slot time it will say it’s delivered even if it hasn’t been. Had this with Asda the other day £100 shop that just didn’t show up no call email nothing, kids packed lunch for school the next day was in the shop and took a week for a refund 😣

NeedAChangeAsIAmSoooOuting · 11/11/2022 00:02

When it's that late it is not coming. Been getting Tesco delivery for years it has always been within my 1hour window

EgonsShell · 11/11/2022 00:03

This happened to us recently, they took the money out our account as well! Didn't get any compensation - just asked us if we still wanted the order, but would have to wait 2 more days to get it.

To be fair it's the only issue we've had in 3 years of online deliveries from them.

Hapoydayz · 11/11/2022 00:05

are you in the south east as it maybe the nut job oil protesters that are delaying things

MakeItADouble2 · 11/11/2022 00:06

We have had it late a fair few times. In fact, I'm surprised when it comes within the slot. But it's never not come. Bloomin inconvenient. No time to go to shops.

@Hapoydayz We are in London

Sorry. You lost me at “What compensation can I expect”.

I sincerely hope your delivery driver hasn’t been involved in a Road Traffic Accident.

bloodyeverlastinghell · 11/11/2022 00:09

Mines didn’t come recently. Got an emailat 6 next morning saying it was cancelled. Money back 3-4 days later. Was a Pita as no milk; next order I stocked up on uht. No compensation but if you call and make a fuss you’ll get 5-10 quid voucher.

VashtaNerada · 11/11/2022 00:12

Tesco are horrendous. This happened to us all the time. Switched to Ocado and if you’re careful it’s not any more expensive but they do actually turn up when expected. And they do carrier bags!

WibblyWobblyTimeyWimeyStuff · 11/11/2022 00:15

It's not coming tonight.......

MakeItADouble2 · 11/11/2022 00:15

@bloodyeverlastinghell OK that's helpful. will be on the phone in the morning

EgonsShell · 11/11/2022 00:16

I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect some form of compensation. t's a massive pain in the bahookie if an order doesn't turn up.

Marmite17 · 11/11/2022 00:17

Mine often comes early. Always book the cheapest evening slots and have found them, to their credit, waiting outside when I'm home in time to get it.

tobee · 11/11/2022 00:26

I don't get the impression the op is expecting a million quid compensation....

tobee · 11/11/2022 00:28

So a Mumsnet response about the rta. Obviously no one wants that ... it's more likely that Tesco are short of drivers and trying to get their drivers to do unfeasible number of deliveries to fill in.

tobee · 11/11/2022 00:29
  • such a Mumsnet response
Twillow · 11/11/2022 00:31

You may get offered a voucher.

Totally agree. It's hardly grabby when there's a massive inconvenience and a possibility the op doesn't have enough in for tomorrow or enough money to wait on the refund. What would happen in that scenario? Couldn't they just resend the order? It must happen
I'd make a fuss until they did that. I would be more interested in the shopping coming as soon as they could send it over a voucher

I had exactly this last week.

twoandcooplease · 11/11/2022 17:57

Just curious to know the outcome of this @MakeItADouble2?
I hope they sorted this for you
