AIBU to ask my new boyfriend not to smoke in his bedroom at all if he wants me to stay over?

Relatively new boyfriend of 4 months. He smokes in some of the rooms of his house and has his last smoke of the day in bed.

I don’t smoke at all. While I understand it’s his house, he wants me to stay over, I don’t really like to sleep in a bed that smells of smoke, he says he can’t smell it. He doesn’t smoke in bed or in the house when I’m there as I knows I don’t like it but I can still smell it from the previous night. I’ve said the duvet smells of smoke and he said he would wash them the next day which I’m sure he did but then smoked again that night no doubt.
would I be unreasonable to ask him not to smoke in his room if he wants me to stay over? I guess the only option is not to stay if I don’t like it but I know he wants me there.

Why the fuck are you dating a smoker? Gross. Raise the bar.

Just dump him. If you dislike smoke, find a non-smoker. He’ll reek, and you won’t grow to like the stench of a smoker.

She's the one dating a smoker when she hates the smell of cigarette smoke. Doesn't make too much sense, does it? Never mind the impact on her health.

You both have choices. He can smoke in his bedroom and accept that you won't stay over or keep it clean so you will stay there. You have the choice to put up with it or not stay. He does need to know though, that these are the choices he has. How much are you willing to put up with to spend time with your boyfriend? For me, a man would have to be an unbelievably amazing person with great skill in everything to make me even consider spending the night in their bedroom that they smoked in. Not unreasonable at all.

I would see this as a sign of incompatibility. You hate smoking, he clearly loves it. No future in this relationship really.

I wouldn’t date a smoker at all. It’s unfair to expect him to change.
