To think that this won't fill a giant cup?

Sorry - couldn't find where to post this where it would be seen!! Hope this is allowed?

Talking coffee machines. The Nescafe Dolce Gusto is on offer at the moment. Does anyone have this? Is it any good? My DH has a giant cup, so I definitely don't think these pods will fill it. I've seen review videos where it doesn't always fill a normal cup?!

Any help appreciated. I just like it because they do hot chocolate pods as I don't drink coffee!

You'll likely have to use two pods at a time if you want to use a giant cup whichever pod machine you use - the pods are all designed to make a specific amount of the selected drink.

We used to have this at work and I liked it; the selection of drinks was good and the pods were always on offer somewhere, and I didn’t hear anyone moan about the size of cups/drinks - but I’d expect it’s like anything; and some people prefer others. For the price, I think it’s pretty good, if you’d use it regularly.

The pods are designed for different size drinks. If you get a chance to look at the box closer it will say on it. When you use it you change the number on the machine to match the number on the pod. They will not fill a standard BIG mug as we know it.

Any pods will just do a standard portion. It will be a standard latte, flat white, espresso, hot chocolate etc. You will need two pods if you want a big cup, or your DH could just use a normal sized cup.

We have it and it's great for the price.

The recommended amount of water for each pod is quite small but you could always double/triple up.

We got some nice glass coffee mugs to use with it which are a perfect size but not big!

Thank you all, I really appreciate the replies. I think we will go for it. Glad to hear you like it @Lockdownmummy and @TakeYourFinalPosition , and at least it should work for me with a normal sized cup if hit chocolate!

They don't fill a normal cup, they're usually about 200ml ish

I have this machine and can fill a mug but it's probably a bit watered down

IndiaRose22 · 11/11/2022 07:42

Yep, it's going back! Haha we haven't opening it but told my DH about sizes, measured them out and realised they don't even fill our normal cups. His cup would need at least 4x. I'm so disappointed, I wanted nice hot chocolates!

Ah I know and the little cup they give you if you buy one is tiny. You can stretch the pods by doing it twice but it's so much hassle. Have you considered a velvetiser for chocolate? They are too expensive for me but they seem popular on here.

I have had a look but I don't want to pay it for just hot chocolate. I was happy that we would have had something we both could use, not just one of us! Oh well, I will stick to sachets and disappointment (too dramatic? 🤔)
