Carbon Monoxide alarm went of yesterday.

Hi all,
Yesterday the carbon monoxide alarm went off. It was obvious what set it off as my idiot brother brung in the CHARCOAL BBQ inside. The alarm went off so I ran to see what was going on. I immediately opened all the windows in the house for about an hour and the alarm went off, only for me to realise my brother took the batteries out. I understand that my brother has never been the brightest but I mean seriously, that's ridiculous. I was panicking wondering what to do so I called one of the guys that had recently fitted my boiler (About 2 months ago) and he said many people make this mistake and just keep the doors open. Anyways today I'm still alive haha and the birds are too which is a good sign but I've been really stressed over it. I also rang the gas advice line up today and they said that I acted well but they didn't send anyone over to see if there is still CO in the property. Hubby says leave it now but I'm still anxious that it may still be lingering round the property. What should I do now?

If you have opened all the windows and the BBQ is no longer in the house, I wouldn't worry. Just reset the alarm/put the batteries back. Nobody is going to come to check the C02 levels on your house.

Put the batteries back in and let it do its thing. If it doesn’t go off again, you’re fine.

Yeah just put the batteries back in...

I cannot understand why you haven’t just put the batteries back in. If you have and the alarm isn’t going off, then everything is fine, if the batteries go in and the alarm goes in, then everything is not fine.

I think you should calm down, put the batteries in the alarm and get on with your day to day life
